How it Started

My name is Tim Galligan, I am the Founder and CEO of Handled.

I started my career in real estate as a licensed agent and built a team that became a top-ranking team in the nation. Handled was created by listening closely to consumer needs and was originally offered as a program by our sales team.

Throughout our journey, we realized the value we were able to provide to consumers, not only through our program, but by being able to help families navigate through all different types of scenarios through our professional network.

How Handled was created:

One day, I received a call from a homeowner who had inherited a home along with his two siblings. The home had been vacant for quite some time, and they were about ready to accept a cash offer from an investor for $250,000. The siblings asked if I could go take a look at the property and let them know what I thought it was worth.

This home was messy as could be. I'm talking boxes stacked to the ceilings, floors covered in dirt, carpets ripped up- an absolute train wreck BUT structurally, it was a great home. This is the point where a lightbulb went off in my head.

I told them they could get at least $400,000 by letting us get the home in the best condition possible. All 3 siblings thought I was nuts, they had spoken to several other people and my projection was by far the highest.

Our strategy was simple; have our team and crew go in, empty out all of the junk, tighten up all loose ends, professionally clean top to bottom and list the home to get top dollar for the family. We did just that, we had all hands on deck on this property and got it done.

After our services were completed, we listed the property and sold their home for $417,500. We saved this family over $150,000! That's no small savings. They were excited to say the least.

We replicated this service for 75+ customers over the next couple of years and turned our once upon a time sales program into a full blown operation and even gave it a name, Handled.
